Ashley Willerton – ghost sign mural
Ashley Willerton created this 1901 ghost sign for a bistro to strengthen their independent brand status by introducing forgotten traditional crafts such as hand painting and gilding.
Situated in an old church, the owners wanted to utilise their huge sandstone wall to create a feature piece that paid tribute to the Church’s history. Ashley aged and distressed the sign so it would feel like an authentic part of the wall.

Oh yes, Ashley Willerton’s latest hand painted 23k gilded sign sure is fine.
